Auxílio Brasil: Everything you need to know in 2024!

Auxílio Brasil, the Federal Government's income transfer program, replaced Bolsa Família in November 2021.

Its objective is to guarantee social protection and combat extreme poverty, offering a monthly amount to families in vulnerable situations.

But what really changed with Auxílio Brasil?

Value: The base benefit increased from R$400 to R$600, with an additional R$150 per child up to 6 years old. In special situations, such as natural disasters, the value may be increased by an extra amount.

New families: The program expanded the target audience, including families in extreme poverty (per capita monthly income less than R$800.00) and poverty (per capita monthly income between R$800.00 and R$1,700.00).

Other actions: Auxílio Brasil also offers access to public services such as education, health and social assistance.

Who is entitled to Brazil Aid?

• Families in extreme poverty, with a per capita monthly income of less than R$800.00.
• Families in poverty, with monthly per capita income between R$800.00 and R$1,700.00.
• Families with pregnant women, children and teenagers up to 21 years old.
• Families with members who have disabilities.
• Families that are included in the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico).

How to sign up for Auxílio Brasil?

Registration can be done in several ways:

• In person: In units of the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) in your municipality.
• Online: Through the “Auxílio Brasil” application or the Ministry of Citizenship website (https://antigo.cidadania.gov.br/).
• Telephone: Calling number 135.

Is Auxílio Brasil still available?

Yes, Auxílio Brasil is a permanent program of the Federal Government. Families who meet the criteria can apply for the benefit at any time.
