Many families were left homeless, either by the water level or even by the destruction of their homes due to the force of the floods.

Whatever the specific situation, it is a fact that these families need support to get back on their feet in such a difficult time.

With this in mind, the Federal Government launched the Reconstruction Aid, a financial benefit worth R$ 5,100 paid to each family affected by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul.

The idea of this aid is to provide conditions for families to get their homes back, whether through rent, renovation or any other viable solution.

Therefore, the aid is paid in a single installment, to the representative of the family group, and is limited to 1 payment per family.

Who is entitled to Reconstruction Aid?

As with all social benefits, to receive Reconstruction Aid you must meet the stipulated requirements.

It is worth mentioning that this aid does not require a minimum income, so it is not reserved for families registered with CadÚnico. In fact, it is not even necessary to register in this system to participate.

The only requirement to receive is the following: the family must reside in one of the cities affected by the rains, with recognition of an emergency situation and public calamity until June 7, 2024.

It is worth mentioning that to apply for assistance, the family must be homeless due to the disasters caused by the floods, so it is not enough to live in the city.

I am a Bolsa Família beneficiary, can I receive Reconstruction Aid?

One of the main doubts regarding receiving the Reconstruction Aid is whether Bolsa Família beneficiaries can receive it.

It depends. If the family is a beneficiary of Bolsa Família and meets the Reconstruction Aid requirements, they will certainly be entitled to receive it.

However, the simple fact of receiving Bolsa Família does not guarantee the right to the aid in question, because as we have already explained, it is an emergency benefit, having no connection with a minimum income guarantee.

In fact, the central purpose of Reconstruction Aid is to provide housing for families who are victims of the floods, having no relation to income.

Therefore, to find out if you are entitled to the new aid, carefully check the requirements of this specific program.

How does the application process work?

The Reconstruction Aid request process is very simple, as the idea is to guarantee payment of the amounts in the shortest possible time to families in need.

The first phase of the request takes place with the help of a city hall employee, who will register the family on the benefit list.

Once done, after 2 days of pre-registration, simply access the Auxílio Reconstrução platform to confirm the registered data.

The representative of the family group must be responsible for this confirmation, and after 2 days Caixa Econômica Federal will be responsible for paying the aid.

It is important to say that only 1 member of the family group can request and receive the benefit. If more than one person in the family receives it, this could constitute an attempt at fraud.

How is the aid paid?

After completing the Reconstruction Aid request procedure, be aware that the deadline for depositing R$ 5,100 is up to 2 days.

This deposit will take place in a Caixa Econômica Federal account, if the representative of the family group is an account holder.

But, if you don't have an account, don't worry, as Caixa will automatically open a Savings Account to deposit the amounts.

Accessing this savings account is very simple, as you just need to access the Caixa TEM app with your CPF.

After accessing Caixa TEM, you will be able to make payments and transfers with the amount deposited and thus provide housing for your family.

So, if you meet the program's requirements, request your Reconstruction Aid as soon as possible and guarantee your family's rights at this delicate time.
