How does the Single Registry work?

How the Single Registry works is quite simple. Families interested in participating should contact the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) or the city hall of the municipality in which they live to register.

It is necessary to present some documents, such as CPF, ID, proof of residence and, if you have one, a voter registration card.

Furthermore, it is important to highlight that each family member must have their own CPF.

When registering, the family's socioeconomic information is collected, including data on family composition, income, education, housing, among others.

This information is used to identify families in vulnerable situations and ensure that they have access to social programs and benefits suited to their needs.

Importance of this system

The importance of the Single Registry is undeniable. It allows the government to more accurately understand the reality of low-income families and direct resources more efficiently.

Furthermore, it minimizes bureaucracy and duplication of registrations, facilitating access to social benefits for both families and the bodies responsible for managing the programs.

Among the benefits and social programs that those registered in the Single Registry are entitled to, the following stands out: Bolsa Família

The minimum benefit amount is currently R$600.00. However, it may be higher depending on the family composition.

This is because the government pays an additional fee for families with children of different ages and pregnant women.

The value of the benefit may be even greater if the family receives a Gas Voucher. Although it is a rightful benefit for all Bolsa Família beneficiaries, few families receive it.

Another important benefit is the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC), aimed at people with disabilities and elderly people aged 65 or over who have a per capita family income of up to a quarter of the minimum wage.

The BPC consists of a monthly payment worth one minimum wage, with the aim of guaranteeing the subsistence of these people who are in conditions of greater social vulnerability.

In addition to Bolsa Família and BPC, the Single Registry is also used as a selection criterion for other government programs and initiatives:
