But don’t worry, we will clarify all your doubts in today’s article!

What is a young apprentice?

The Young Apprentice program is an initiative that aims to offer employment and professional training opportunities for young people between 14 and 24 years old.

This program is governed by Apprenticeship Law, Law No. 10,097/2000, and regulated by Decree No. 5,598/2005.

The idea is to reduce the number of opportunities that are not given to people who do not have experience, as most companies and institutions do not give opportunities to those who do not have some type of experience.

The program is aimed at young people who are attending secondary or primary education, providing work, which can be four or six hours, in private and public companies.

It offers benefits to the company that can “shape” the young person according to their culture and what they want in an employee. And also for young apprentices who can develop in certain areas and gain experience.

How much does a young apprentice earn?

A young apprentice's salary will depend on factors such as the number of days and hours worked, the size of the company and the region in which it is located, as this has a direct influence.

But average salaries in Brazil start at R$660 and can reach values of up to R$1500, depending on the company and location.

How to join the program?

Some companies offer young apprentice vacancies on their own websites, just access them and check the programs in the “Work with Us” tab.

They usually announce on their Instagram or LinkedIn pages when their young apprentice programs are open for the year in question. Therefore, it is good to keep an eye on what may be available.

Another way to enter programs of this type is through third-party companies that are hired to carry out this management, such as:

  • Young Citizen Program;
  • CIEE – Business School Integration Center;
  • ISBET – Brazilian Institute for Education, Work and Development;
  • ABRE – Brazilian Employment and Internship Association.

There are others too, but on the national professional scene, these are the most famous.

Requirements for young apprentice

The young apprentice contract can last up to two years, and while the teenager has his contract in force, he will acquire practical and theoretical knowledge, that is, in the classroom and through experience within the company.

And to be able to participate in the program, the young person must be between 14 and 24 years old and cannot have professional experience that is recorded in the work card.

In addition, the young person must be enrolled in primary, secondary or undergraduate education.

And if you are a young person who has finished high school, you will need to be in some type of technical course so that you can participate in the young apprentice programs.
