Who is entitled to PIS?

PIS is the Social Integration Program, a program created by the federal government to integrate private sector workers into the country's economic and social life.

This financial resource is paid by Caixa Econômica Federal and works as a 14th salary for workers who meet the requirements. 

Therefore, People who meet the following requirements are entitled to PIS:

  • Have worked with a formal contract for at least 30 days in the previous year;
  • Have received, on average, up to two monthly minimum wages in the previous year;
  • Be registered with PIS for at least five years;
  • Have your data correctly informed by the employer in the Annual Social Information List (RAIS) or in eSocial.

What is the PIS value and calendar?

If you meet these conditions, you can receive the PIS salary bonus, which can reach the value of up to a minimum wage, depending on the number of months worked. 

O PIS payment schedule is defined by the worker's month of birth and runs from February to July 2023. 

You can check the amount and date of your payment on the Caixa website, through the Caixa Trabalhador app or by calling 0800-726-02-07.

But be careful: the deadline to withdraw PIS is December 28, 2023. If you don't withdraw it by that date, the money will return to the Workers' Support Fund (FAT).

They are a right for workers registered with PIS between 1971 and 1988 and who have not yet withdrawn the full balance of shares in their individual account. 

PIS quotas differ from salary bonuses as they have no deadline for withdrawal and can be withdrawn at any time.

To find out if you are entitled to PIS quotas, you can consult the Caixa website, the Caixa Trabalhador app or go to a Caixa branch with an official document with a photo. 

If you are entitled, you can withdraw PIS shares at any Caixa ATM, at lottery outlets or at Caixa Aqui correspondents, using the Citizen Card and the registered password. 

If you don't have a Citizen Card, you can request one free of charge by calling 0800-726-02-07 or at a Caixa branch.
