Step 2: Sign up for the program

To join the Harvest Guarantee Program, you have two options:

  1. Access the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) and fill out the online membership form;
  2. Look for the local office of the Brazilian Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (EMATER) and request membership in person.

You will need to provide your personal data, such as name, CPF, address, telephone number and email, and data about your rural property, such as location, planted area and type of crop.

After confirming your membership, the responsible body will send you a magnetic card, which you can use to withdraw the benefit.

Step 3: Pay your annual contribution

To participate in the Harvest Guarantee Program, you need to pay an annual contribution of R$17.00, which is supplemented by your municipality, your state and the Union.

This contribution will form a fund that will be used to pay compensation to farmers who have proven crop loss.

You can pay your contribution at any bank branch or lottery outlet, up to the deadline established by the program.

Step 4: Report crop loss and request verification

When a weather event occurs that affects your production, you must notify EMATER and request verification of the crop loss.

A technical team will go to your rural property and assess the situation.

If the loss of at least 50% of production is found, you will be entitled to compensation, which will be released after the publication of the technical report in the Official Gazette of the Union.

The compensation amount is R$850.00, divided into five monthly installments of R$170.00.

Ready! Now you know how to participate in the Harvest Guarantee Program in 4 simple steps.

But be careful: there is a set deadline to join the program, so don't delay and sign up now.
